Privacy Policy for FinishIt

FinishIt is designed around local productivity data.

FinishIt helps you create missions, set deadlines, receive reminder notifications, complete tasks, track recent wins, maintain streaks, and unlock achievement badges.

We do not currently operate a FinishIt account system, remote sync service, advertising network integration, or analytics backend for collecting your mission data. FinishIt also does not include Google sign-in or cloud backup to a VritraSec or Google account.

FinishIt stores the information needed to run your missions.

FinishIt may store the following information locally on your device:

Your FinishIt data is stored on your device.

FinishIt uses Android local storage, including the on-device database and app preferences, to keep your missions, reminder settings, award unlocks, theme, guide status, and progress data available on your device.

Deleting the app, clearing app data from Android settings, resetting data in FinishIt settings, or restoring a backup may remove or replace locally stored FinishIt data.

FinishIt opts out of Android Auto Backup and excludes its data from Android device-to-device app transfer. Google Backup will not upload or restore your FinishIt workspace. If you want a copy of your data, create an in-app encrypted backup.

FinishIt uses local alarms and notifications to remind you.

FinishIt schedules local reminders for active missions using Android alarm and notification APIs. Reminder timing may depend on the mission priority, saved reminder interval, deadline, notification state, and snooze action.

On supported Android versions, you can allow precise alarm scheduling through the system's “Alarms & reminders” control. If precise alarm access is unavailable or disabled, Android may deliver a reminder later than its scheduled time.

Reminder notification content is generated on your device based on mission state and reminder mode. Notification text may include the mission title. FinishIt does not send your mission content to a VritraSec server to create notifications.

After device restart or app update, FinishIt may reschedule eligible reminders for active missions.

Backup and restore are user-controlled actions.

FinishIt can create an encrypted .finishit backup file when you choose to back up. A current backup may include missions, reminder settings, completion history, award unlocks, app progress, theme preference, and guide status.

New backups are encrypted with a backup key you create at export time. FinishIt does not store that key on the device or on a server. You will need the same key to restore. If the key is lost, that backup cannot be recovered by VritraSec.

Backup files may be saved to Documents/FinishIt where Android allows automatic saving, or to a location you choose through Android's document picker.

You are responsible for where you store, move, upload, or share exported backup files. Restore replaces current local FinishIt data with the contents of the selected valid FinishIt backup. Older backups created before the user-key format may still restore without a user-chosen key.

FinishIt does not sell or upload your mission data.

FinishIt does not sell your data and does not currently upload your missions, streaks, reminders, awards, notes, or backup contents to a FinishIt-operated server.

• When a notification is shown, Android handles display and notification controls on the device.
• When you open this privacy policy from Settings, your device browser handles that website request. FinishIt does not operate an in-app account or sync network for your workspace.
• When you save or restore a backup, Android storage or the document picker handles the selected file location.
• When you share an unlocked award, Android's share sheet sends a generated image and caption to the app you choose. FinishIt does not upload that card to a VritraSec server.
• When you save an award card, the image is written to your gallery under Pictures/FinishIt.

FinishIt requests permissions for productivity features.

• Notifications: used to show local mission reminders and related actions. On Android versions that require permission, you can allow or deny notifications through system settings.
• Alarms & reminders: used where Android permits precise local reminder scheduling. If this access is not granted, FinishIt uses Android's available inexact scheduling and delivery may be delayed.
• Receive boot completed: used to reschedule reminders after device restart.
• Storage or document access: used for user-initiated backup export and restore, and for saving an award image on older Android versions. Modern Android versions use the system document picker, MediaStore, or app-created document locations; legacy storage permission is limited to Android 9 and earlier.

You can deny optional Android permissions, but some reminder or backup features may not work as intended without the related permission.

FinishIt does not request direct exemption from Android battery optimization and does not use these permissions for advertising, analytics, profiling, or tracking.

FinishIt keeps local data until you remove it.

Missions, completion history, reminder settings, achievements, and analytics derived from those records remain on your device until you edit or delete related data, restore a backup, clear app data, or uninstall FinishIt. VritraSec does not keep a server copy, and Google Auto Backup does not keep a FinishIt workspace copy.

Individual completed mission history is treated as achievement history inside the app and may remain available unless app data is reset or replaced.

You control the data and permissions used by FinishIt.

• Create, edit, complete, or delete active missions.
• Change reminder mode, priority, deadline, and timing settings.
• Enable or disable Android notification permission.
• Allow or disable precise alarm scheduling through Android's “Alarms & reminders” settings.
• Choose System, Light, or Dark appearance; the selection is stored locally.
• Create encrypted backups with your own key, or restore from a selected .finishit file.
• Share or save unlocked award cards; the destination app or gallery then handles that file.
• Reset missions, history, awards, and progress from FinishIt settings. Theme and guide status stay until you clear app data or uninstall.
• Uninstall FinishIt to remove app storage from your device. Because FinishIt opts out of Android Auto Backup, uninstalling does not leave a Google cloud copy of your workspace.

FinishIt is not designed to knowingly collect children's personal information.

Since FinishIt does not currently use a VritraSec-operated account system or remote backend, we do not knowingly collect children's personal information through FinishIt.

This policy may be updated as FinishIt changes.

We may update this policy when FinishIt adds, removes, or changes features that affect data storage, permissions, backups, notifications, sharing, or server usage. This version covers FinishIt 1.2.0, including user-key backups and the Android Auto Backup opt-out.
